The client

• The Beer Enterprise Fund, backed by Beer & Partners, the largest business angels network in the UK, was set up as a private equity fund targeting growing British companies specifically those that fall within the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) guidelines.

The brief

• To create interest in and press coverage of the role of private equity in smaller British companies
• To promote the fund to attract investors seeking to diversify into private equity with a view to taking advantage of the EIS tax breaks
• Hold launch event

Activities

• Event-managed the launch of the fund at the House of Commons
• Distributed press release announcing the creation of the fund
• Created interest in EIS Funds and therefore coverage of The Beer Enterprise Fund in appropriate media

Results

• Successful press coverage over a short time frame for a new concept of private equity fund
• Attracted a large number of investors to the launch event in line with client target
