Astrolabe was selected by European Climate Exchange to launch its carbon offset charity PURE, the ‘clean planet trust.

Astrolabe spearheaded the nation-wide launch of the UK’s first charity dedicated to combating climate change. PURE - The Clean Planet Trust launched in November 2006. Astrolabe was heavily involved in lengthy negotiations with Government and in arranging for the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, Ian Pearson MP, and his team to attend PURE’s launch.

An environmentally-conscious launch event, organised by the Astrolabe’s in-house events manager, was held in Hyde Park. It was attended by leading journalists from the business and financial, environmental and travel sectors of radio, television, print and online media. The event gained nation-wide media coverage.

Pure was been selected by readers of ‘Which?’ Magazine as the best way in which to offset one’s carbon footprint.
